Ukrainian internet provider Frinet (trading as O3) will fully merge with provider Vega on September 1, 2026, as part of the Vodafone Ukraine group of companies. Internet and TV services for subscribers of both providers will now be delivered by PJSC FARLEP-INVEST under the Vega brand.
The company notified customers of the completed merger on the O3 website. Connection quality and speed for subscribers will not change, and the network will continue to offer gigabit internet access.
Vodafone first announced plans to merge the Frinet and Vega brands in June 2025, and the process unfolded in several stages. In April 2026, Vodafone Ukraine bought out the remaining 9.4% of Frinet’s shares for $2 million, becoming the provider’s sole owner. Frinet was simultaneously undergoing reorganization from a limited liability company into a joint-stock company. On January 29, 2026, Ukraine’s National Securities and Stock Market Commission registered a share issue as part of that transformation.
The transfer of Frinet subscribers to Vega’s service has been happening in stages since December 2025. Kyiv customers connected via GPON technology moved first, followed by subscribers in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, and later in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kryvyi Rih branches. The September merger under a single brand marks the final stage of that process.

Frinet has operated in the internet services market since 2008, building FTTx networks on 10- and 40-gigabit fiber-optic backbones. The provider currently serves more than 150,000 subscribers in Kyiv and ten Ukrainian regions. Vodafone Ukraine acquired a controlling stake in Frinet in 2023 for 746 million hryvnias (UAH), while Vega (PJSC FARLEP-INVEST) had already joined the group earlier, in 2021.
