Kyivstar launches home internet plan with speeds of up to 8 Gbps

Kyivstar has launched a new Home Internet plan called “Maximum,” offering subscribers speeds of up to 8 Gbps. Residents of the Respublika residential complex in Kyiv will be the first to gain access to it.

Home Internet is Kyivstar’s fixed-line business, where the company has steadily pushed connection speeds higher for its subscribers. The new plan marks the latest step in that push, aimed at meeting growing demand for fast, reliable connectivity.

Kyivstar and Ukrtelecom also recently agreed to mutual network access under an Open Access model — another move in the expansion of Kyivstar’s fixed-line network.

For Respublika residents, the launch of “Maximum” is a chance to be among the first to try the new speed. For Kyivstar, it’s a pilot rollout at a single site: the company will use it to gain practical experience before scaling the technology to other buildings and cities.

“We are consistently developing Kyivstar’s Home Internet infrastructure to give customers not just high speed today, but headroom for the future. Rolling out speeds of up to 8 Gbps is another step in that direction. For Respublika residents, this is a chance to be among the first to test a new level of home internet speed, and for us, it’s valuable experience for scaling the technology further,” said Serhii Kindras, head of Kyivstar’s fixed-line communications department.

Speeds of up to 8 Gbps make for a smoother experience even when many devices are connected to the network at once. Subscribers will be able to work, study, make video calls, and stream 4K and 8K content simultaneously without lag. The higher bandwidth also speeds up large file downloads and makes cloud services and online gaming run more smoothly.

The “Maximum” plan’s debut at Respublika marks the first phase of testing the new speed. Kyivstar says it will consider expanding availability to other residential complexes and cities going forward.
